The vitamins play a vital role in the body. These are the nutrients which are essential for the maintenance of body in human beings.
The vitamins help in performing hundreds of roles in humans. They help in the damage caused in the cells of humans. There are about thirteen vitamins which are essential in nature.
The vitamins are essential for the healing of wounds, boosting of immune system, and building up the health of bones in human beings.
The current perception regarding the need for vitamin supplementation is for the cell growth, development and various other functions which bring about the overall growth of body.
Thus the vitamins are necessary for the proper working and functioning of the human body and maintaining healthy life.

Saturated fats are the same thing as trans fats. True or False?
Nutrients refer to those food elements that are needed by the body for its growth, repair, and regulation. The provide energy to perform different functions and also play a major role in repairing tissues that have been damages. Apart from this, they are involved in regulation of physiological process and promoting growth of tissues.
Fats play a major role in storage of excess calories; however, besides this, they also have other functions. These include providing a feeling of satiety (preventing from feeling of hunger) for longer; giving a pleasing taste to food; and carrying fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K.
There are three forms of fats that formulate the dietary fat, that is, saturated, monosaturated, and polysaturated. Saturated fats are those fats that are found in animal sources and vegetable oils. They become trans fats after addition of hydrogen, that is, hydrogenated saturated fats are referred to as trans fats.

The minerals help in building up and maintenance of good health conditions of the bones. It also helps in transmitting the nerve impulses.
It is observed that the minerals are often useful in maintaining and making up of the hormones. It also helps in the checking and maintaining of normal heartbeat.
A trace element is present in the small amount which has an ability to bring about catalysis in enzyme based reactions. It is required by the living organism in small amounts for the growth.
Some of the trace elements are sulfur, iron, chlorine, iodine, molybdenum, manganese, zinc, copper, cobalt, selenium etc.
