Drugs are chemical substances, which might be sourced either from plants, animals, minerals or through genetic engineering. The drugs are prepared and administered depending on its use and effect that it would have on the body.
Depending upon how a drug has been manufactured, drugs vary in their strength, purity and quality. This it is important to have standardization for manufacture of drugs.
Hence drug standards are rules that have been set up by the government and other associations that need to be met during manufacture of drugs. Drug standards help to maintain same purity, quality and strength for same drugs.
Another use of drug standards is that it becomes easier for doctors to administer or prescribe accurate dosage and also evaluate exact results of the given dosage.
