Identify the communication behaviors one should demonstrate in therapeutic listening.
In therapeutic listening, the listener should create a supportive environment allowing the sender to speak openly. The listener should also provide verbal encouragement, approval, and positive nonverbal communication and listen with empathy. Finally, the listener should help the speaker identify desired goals, as well as recognize one's own personal limitations in giving help to the speaker.
