Nature's fury was catched by a video camera crew that were following the tornado. The storm blowed across open water, then teared into a small seaside village that stood in its path. Everyone in town were asked to evacuate, but at least one resident boarded up their home and chose to rode out the storm. The last hurricane leaved a great mass of destruction in their wake, but this time the estimates of the damage was far worse. Several large stores and factories in our area has been damaged, and many of these still remains closed. A few schools were so badly affected that they had to be torn down and now need to be completely rebuild. They say that money for rebuilding will be available from the government soon. However, even though the state and the county have promised relief funds for these projects, neither have yet delivered any financial assistance.
Actually, we did not fared badly when compared with others. In fact, some nearby communities was completely destroyed, and one of my friends lost their home, but we were luckier than him. Yes, our garage, which sit among a stand of pine trees, had some of its roof shingles torn off by the wind, but my father and I will fix it. In fact, we has already purchased the shingles and other supplies we need.
