Exercise 17

Create a new case for patient Hiro Tanaka, and enter information in the Personal tab. The information needed to complete this exercise is found on Source Document 1.
Date: October 4, 2010
1. Start Medisoft and restore the data from your last work session.
2. Change the Medisoft Program Date to the date listed above, October 4, 2010.
3. On the Lists menu, click Patients/Guarantors and Cases. The Patient List dialog box is displayed.
4. Search for Hiro Tanaka by keying T in the Search for box. The arrow should point to the entry line for Hiro Tanaka.
5. Click the Case radio button to activate the case portion of the Patient List dialog box.
6. Click the New Case button. The dialog box labeled Case: TANAKHIØ Tanaka, Hiro (new) is displayed. The Personal tab is the current active tab. Notice that some information is already filled in.
7. Enter Tanaka-s reason for seeing the doctor in the Description box.
8. Choose the correct entry for Tanaka's marital status from the drop-down list in the Marital Status box. The Student Status box can be left blank.
9. Notice that the information on Tanaka's employment is already filled in. The system copies the information entered in the Patient/Guarantor dialog box to the case file for you.
10. Check your entries for accuracy.
11. Click the Save button to save the case information you just entered. The Patient List dialog box redisplays. Notice that the case you just created is listed in the area of the dialog box labeled List of cases for: Tanaka, Hiro.
12. Do not close the Patient List dialog box.
