Recent studies shows that cell phones are no longer associated with risk of cancer. As with growing population number of cell phone users is increasing and so as the exposure time to the radiation emitted by cell phone. We know cell phone emits radiofrequency which are non-ionizing. Several papers have published showing relationship between cell phone and cancer risk.
A study performed Denmark by 'Institute of Cancer Epidemiology' had shown there is no connection between increased risk of cancer and cell phone use. This study was performed on both short term and long term users and no evidence was found.
To show that cell phones are safe to use we can perform two kind of experiment:
Firstly cell phone use is to be compared among the groups of people which have tumours and which do not have tumours. Level of exposure frequency and time of exposure should be recorded for both the groups. Following points should be noted:-
• How regularly phone is being used
• Initial age when cell phone was first used
• Average numbers call made/attended per day
• Average length of conversation.
This will helps estimating the effect of cell phone on user.
Similar experiment can be performed with the people who use cell phone and another group who does not (or restricted) use cell phone. By monitoring symptoms of disease or health of the individual it can be proved that cell phone is safe to human use. We have to assure that any symptom of disease is due to cell phone use and not because of any other reasons.
