Rangle started dating Temple in 1968 when he was 52 and she was 26. In 1971, Rangle employed her in his medical office. In 1976, Rangle and Temple became engaged but Rangle kept avoiding marriage. This avoidance caused Temple to leave him for several short periods. In 1980, they got a marriage license but it expired without being used. In 1982, when she turned 40, Temple was particularly upset about not being married and said she was leaving for good. Rangle pleaded with her to return and promised her that he would leave her his estate, including his real property, in exchange for her returning to work and continuing their relationship. She did, but when Rangle died suddenly in 1983 there was not a properly signed writing conveying the property to Temple. His estate went to his nephew, Unitas. Can Temple show part performance to enforce the promise to convey her the property?
