What is normal biota?
Explanation
The normal flora in our body includes the bacteria, fungus and viruses in our body, such as lactobacillus and E.coli. These friendly bacteria are essential for the maintenance of appropriate pH in different regions in our body and also absorption of certain foods.
Lactobacillus acidophilus is a gram positive bacteria that belong to the genus lactobacillus. It is naturally found in the gastrointestinal tract and mouth of humans and animals. The bacteria best grows at the pH 5.0 and requires an optimum pH of 37 degree centigrade.
The L. acidiphilus is having probiotic characters (ferments sugars into lactic acid), means it is needed for the maintenance of appropriate health and is not harmful to the body.
