Search for trade and professional magazines and journals about specific occupations and industries that you are interested in. Familiarize yourself with the concerns and activities of potential employers by skimming their annual reports and other publicly distributed materials. Publicly traded companies often have a link to this data on their Web sites. Another potentially useful source of information is to visit the Web sites of some of the key companies in the industry you are researching. Checking their Web sites for current industry news, challenges, and developments can provide a good insight into the nature of the industry.
