Consider broadcasting stations and Radio Detection and Ranging (RADAR).
In both the cases (broadcasting station and RADAR), the working phenomenon cannot be explained using the circuit theory. Circuit theory cannot explain how the communication is done, electromagnetic fields must be used.
Broadcasting is long distance communications, so antennas must be used.
Consider RADAR, it works on the principle of Doppler Effect and for communication antennas are used.
In both the cases antennas are used and the working phenomenon of antenna can't be explained using the circuit theory because upper tip of the antenna is not connected to anything physically so according to circuit theory current flown through antenna would be assumed to be zero.
But in reality it is not true, because according to electromagnetics a non-uniform current will flow along open-ended antenna.
Thus, the two phenomena which can't be explained adequately using circuit theory are broadcasting stations and radio detection and ranging (RADAR).
