A friend of yours, Greg Burleson, has a daughter, Elaine, who wants to major in accounting. She believes that the only skills she needs for success as an accountant are technical skills: knowledge of accounting principles, the ability to research accounting issues, and computer expertise. Your friend Greg suspects that success in accounting requires a wider range of skills than Elaine realizes. However, Elaine isn't receptive to suggestions from her father.
You are a successful CPA who has been in practice for over twenty years, and your family has been friends with the Burleson family for a long time. Greg asks you to write a letter to Elaine about the skills necessary to become a successful accountant. He is sure Elaine will take your advice seriously.
