Your firm has several large multinational and domestic clients that are publicly traded. To better serve clients and to keep the firm's staff well informed, the partners have decided to produce a report covering changes in the accounting profession that may occur over the next two years. This would include:
• Projects the FASB is working on that may result in new accounting standards.
• Announced activity of the SEC, IRS, Congress, and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) that may result in required changes in how your clients or your firm conduct their financial or auditing activities.
• Activity of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IASSB) that may affect your clients or your firm.
