You are newly hired as an accountant for the Chase Condominium Association, a condominium owners association with approximately 200 condo units. The Association is currently using the cash basis of accounting. The president, Brenda Galina, has asked that you explain what the accrual basis of accounting is, how it differs from the cash basis, and whether the Chase Condominium Association should switch from the cash basis to the accrual basis.
Write an email to Ms. Galina that answers her questions. You will need to identify the facts and issues the association should consider before making the decision. Invent any facts necessary to do this. If you find that your explanation will be lengthy, consider writing it as an attachment, with a cover email.
