I've Got a Complaint
The following monologue takes place when Lowell storms into the office of his boss, Liza.
LOWELL: ( Speaking in a loud voice, talking fast without stopping. ) Liza, you told me you were giving me a $1-an-hour raise, effective the first of the month. My friend in payroll tells me that you only put through for a half-dollar-an-hour raise. How can you stab me in the back like that? I thought we were friends. You told me I was getting a $1-an-hour raise and I need it. I just went out and bought a new motorcycle, counting on the money to make my payment. My brother is a lawyer and he told me that this is a breach of contract. I'll sue the company for it if you don't give it to me. Am I going to get my $1-an-hour raise the easy way or hard way?
