Exercise 1
Most people in business on most days deal with company tactics and decisions at a level that is not strategic. However, every decision made by every employee in a company ultimately impacts the success of the strategy for that company. As pointed out by Malcolm Gladwell in his book The Tipping Point , it is the collection of thousands of decisions all aimed in relatively the same direction that can lead a company to the achievement of a strategy. How do you decide what type of decision is strategic

One's assessment of these decisions is that they have a very low probability of success. The reasons for this are:
1) Many companies have tried to build electric cars and even after many years there are no success stories. Even T #, who has been in the market for many years, is still trying to make profit.
2) Making automobiles is more complex than making phones or tablets. There are many parts and very complex supply chains.
3) A@ has always outsourced its product manufacture. In the automobile industry, the manufacture is always in-house.
4) The demand for electric cars is very much dependent on the price of oil and the environmental regulations on gas driven vehicles. The trends in both do not seem to be favorable to electric cars.
These reasons seem to point to the failure of A@'s strategic decisions.
