Inhalants are explosive substance that can be used to induce a mind-altering or psychological effect.
Types of inhalant:
The following are the three types of inhalants:
Volatile substances
Example of volatile substances: Paint thinner, gasoline, and removers
• Anesthetics
• Nitrites
Side effects of volatile substances:
• Initial nausea
• Coughing
• Sneezing
• Lightheadedness
• Mild stimulation
Anesthetics:
Example of anesthetics: Chloroform, nitrous oxide, and halothane
Side effects of anesthetics:
• Loss of sensation
• Limp spasms
• Altered motor co-ordination
• Reduced cardiac function
Nitrites:
Example of nitrites: Isomyl nitrite and cyclohexyl nitrite
Side effects of nitrites:
• Headache
• Nausea
• Involuntary urination
• Restlessness
• Dizziness and flushing

Inhalants:
Inhalants are explosive substance that can be used to induce a mind-altering or psychological effect.
Sudden sniffing death syndrome (SSDS):
It is a failure of heart that results from an irregular heartbeat. It is usually caused by strenuous activity or stress after using inhalants.
