Developing Your Charisma
An effective way of developing your leadership potential is to project a more charismatic image, even if you do not truly make over your personality. If you appear more charismatic to others, they are more likely to respond to your leadership. Also, if you project a more charismatic image, you are more likely to be nominated for leadership positions and assignments. Following is a checklist of the suggestions for becoming more charismatic as presented in Figure 1. As you go through the list, select two or three ideas that you would be willing to try in the next two weeks. Note that some of the suggestions are much easier than others to implement in the short range.
Now that you have made your choice of suggestions, try them out with other people, including students, athletic team members, coworkers, or members of a community group. After your experience, answer the following questions:
