Life Span Challenges Facing Seniors
The life span challenges described in this chapter that seniors face are certainly valid. Your role in this exercise is to find out directly what challenges advanced seniors face. We refer to people 70 years old and beyond. The older the people you can find for this study, the better. Do you have access to a person at least 100 years old? Conduct interviews with parents (if they qualify), grandparents, nursing home residents, friends, and neighbors. Obtain a sample of at least four people. Ask your interviewees about the challenges and problems they face now, those in the recent past, and those they anticipate in the future. After you have collected your interview data, answer these questions:
What are the emotional and human relations problems facing these seniors?
