You are a partner in the firm of Shipley, Pyburn Bynum, a local CPA firm. Your firm has received a letter from George Rayburn of Rayburn Industries, a potential audit client, that asks the following questions:
• What are the objectives of auditing your firm follows?
• How much responsibility does your firm take for the financial statements you produce as a result of an audit? Will your firm guarantee the accuracy of financial statements following your audit?
• What sort of guarantee does your firm provide that it will find any and all errors and fraud during the completion of an audit?
It is evident that Mr. Rayburn has sent a similar letter with the same questions to several CPA firms and plans to select a firm based on the answers he receives.
Write a letter to Mr. Rayburn responding to his questions. Invent any information you feel is necessary to make your letter complete.
