What is a 360-degree performance review? What are its advantages and disadvantages?
A 360-degree performance review is a process that gathers feedback from a review panel of 8 to 12 people, including coworkers, supervisors, team members, subordinates, and even customers. The idea is to get as much frank feedback from as many perspectives as possible. By its very nature, this kind of review involves a lot of work, but employees benefit from it because they are more involved with the process and ultimately better understand their own strengths, weaknesses, and roles in the company. Managers benefit because they get much more in-depth feedback from all parts of the organization. However, a potential weakness of this type of review is its anonymous nature.
