Give an appropriate response.
-The table shows the results of a study examining the effectiveness of home schooling as
compared to traditional schooling. The same reading test is given to all students regardless
of grade. For each age grade, determine the percentage passing the test amongst those schooled at
home and among those with traditional schooling. If the two age groups are combined,
what percentage pass the test amongst those schooled at home and among those with
traditional schooling?
Explain the apparent inconsistency in these results, and how the design of the study
brought about the inconsistency.
