Fourth, they have parent support as well as stimulating and challenging mentors. To meet this need, parents must be engaged in the process by clear communication and open doors to the classroom that invite parent participation. In addition, the teacher needs to be capable of handling the cognitive demands of a rich and intellectually stimulating leadership role in the classroom. Gifted children tend to be more mature than their peers and have fewer emotional problems; however, effective classroom management practices cannot be ignored when conducting lessons and exploration based activities.
