Joel, a first grader, knows the "at" word families but still struggles with other simple word families such as the "ig," "and," "ake," and "ug" families. Joel dislikes reading orally. He enjoys books about animals, bugs, and snakes. During the word-study part of a tutoring session, what activities and/or books would you use to help Joel develop his reading skills.
