The officer in charge of personnel was trying to choose an operator for a radar scope. The task was to detect enemy aircraft and sound the alarm; this requires sustained vigilance. Some selection had already been accomplished and of the three remaining recruits the most reliable was to be chosen as operator. In a sample of their proficiency the following reaction times were found. Calculate statistics that will allow you to choose the most consistent candidate.
