Have students work in small,cooperative learning groups to design a portfolio system intended to display progress during one school term.The directions for the activity appear below.
1. Identify the grade and subject of your portfolio (e.g. reading, writing, science, etc.)
2. List and briefly describe the contents (at least five) that students must include in their portfolios.
3. Describe the student-self evaluations (at least two) that will be part of the portfolio process.
4. Develop a holistic rubric for evaluating the entire portfolio.
5. Develop an analytic rubric for grading the individual portfolio entries.
6. Present the portfolio design to the class.
